Written for Art She Says
Every year in May, the prophetic floating city swells with the well-heeled ambassadors of the art world who come to visit the more than 200 exhibitions, pavilions, and events that constitute the Venice Biennale. From May until November 24, the winding sestiere of Renaissance Venice are transformed into a visual paradise, where contemporary art hangs in decadent palazzos, permanent pavilions in the Giardini di Castello and Arsenale, as well as in the city’s galleries and historic hotels. For the first time, male and female artists are equally represented at the 58th Biennale; at last an accurate reflection of the society the art purports to represent, shape and comment upon.
Great post 🙂
